Errata…no one purposefully creates it, but there must be a defined process in how to handle it. Now, there’s digital errata and there’s print errata and each has its own defined process.   An area that can cause issues for the learner is when the print content has errata, but the learner is unaware. For many years there was a site where print errata was hosted, and instructors and administrators needed to remember to check before assigning coursework. Well, everyone is aware by now, Adobe Flash is no longer supported. And, unfortunately, the software that the electrical training ALLIANCE used for submitting and retrieving textbook errata used Adobe Flash. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a process to both submit and retrieve printed textbook errata. This process is very similar to the method developed with LMS errata and is now available on the LMS. The errata process is detailed below.

Keep in mind, retrieving textbook errata is only necessary for printed textbook material. All errata for eBooks are handled electronically, so the user should have updated material right away throughout their subscription.

Once the errata PDF is open, all errata for the textbook will be displayed. At this point, the instructor and students should make corrections to their hard copy of the textbook.

Submitting Errata

The submission process is very similar to submitting quiz question errata. To submit errata, open one of the lessons in the LMS course that requires the textbook. Click on the Resources tab in the upper right.

When the Submit Errata page is open, it will have your name, email address, program ID, program name, course, and lesson auto-populated. Click in the errata box to type in the errata. Please be as specific as possible with the errata submission (textbook name, catalog number, page, column, and paragraph). You can also submit an attachment such as a photograph with a mark-up of the page where the errata resides.
